
On January 5th, the Middle School STUCO hosted the "Let's Glow Crazy" black light dance for all students.







The Mustangs boys basketball teams faced off against the Atlanta Rabbits last night in their final regular season games of the year. Here are the results:
7/8th B Boys
Atlanta 25 Red Lick 20
The 7/8th B boys fell short in the first game of the night by a final score of 25-20. Gunner Hensel led the Mustangs with 9 points and Jacob Redfearn contributed 4 points. Congratulations on a great season to the 7/8 B team Mustangs.
7th A Boys
Atlanta 38 Red Lick 18
The 7th A boys fought hard but came up short in the 2nd game of the night by a final score of 38-18. The Mustangs were led by Ashton Smallwood with 9 points and Kamden Kyles with 4. Cooper Hampton and Braiden Goynes were key players on the defensive end.
8th A Boys
Atlanta 23 Red Lick 19
The 8th A boys battled it out for 4 quarters in the final game of the night but eventually was defeated by a final score of 23-19. The Mustangs trailed 13-10 going into the 4th quarter and fought hard until the final buzzer. Horatio Foster led the Mustangs with 11 points and Ryan Wells contributed 4 points. Tim Thompson was a standout on the defensive end, along with Jayden Hadaway.
The 7th grade Mustangs wrapped up the season with a 4-5 district record and finished with the 5th place seed going into the weekend for the district tournament. The 8th grade Mustangs finished district with a 5-4 district record and finished with a 4th place seed going into the weekend. The 7th grade boys will face Atlanta in the first round Saturday at Atlanta Middle School at 11am. The 8th grade boys will face Redwater in the first round at Atlanta High School at 10am. The tournament bracket is attached in this email if you would like to come support your Mustangs. Good luck to all the players this weekend and Go Mustangs!!

Red Lick ISD will have a delayed start tomorrow at 10 am. Drop off will begin at 9:30 am and buses will begin running at 9 am. Most roads were dry this afternoon with minimal patches of ice. Drive slow and safe. See you tomorrow.

Update: Since we left the competition, we have received word that our second team, Micro-Mustangs, is a State Qualifier! They advanced through the "Skills" section, where teams are given 1 minute to score as many points as possible. Micro-Mustangs consists of three 8th graders and 1 7th grader. Congratulations to this team!
Today, two of our middle school robotics teams traveled to Miller Grove to compete in the "Frosty the Bot Man" VEX VRC Robotics Competition. Both teams advanced to the finals but were eliminated in the quarterfinals. In addition, Mustang Madness, a team consisting of 7th graders and first time VEX competitors, were honored and humbled to receive the Judge's Award. We are very proud of these young people.

Yesterday our middle school students traveled to Queen City to compete in the academic UIL district meet. We know they peformed with excellence. Results to come. In between tests, many students blew off steam by hanging out in comman areas. #theHerd

Third grade celebrated big yesterday with an ice cream party! We are so very proud of their hard work in meeting their goals on their multiplication facts!

Today, some of the Red Lick Robotics students traveled to Sulphur Springs to compete in the Texas Youth Robotics Association (TYRA) "Hi, Bye Pizza Pie" Competition. All four teams made it to the semi finals. In the end, Red Lick rocked the competition by bringing home 2nd, 3rd, and 4th places! Our second place team, the Dough Spinners, automatically advance to the championship invitational in April. The other teams will compete again in March for another chance to advance.

Due to a schedule conflict, the girls basketball game for Monday, 11/6 vs. DeKalb has been moved to Red Lick. 7th grade girls will start at 5:00pm and 8th grade girls will follow. Also, the scheduled game vs. DeKalb on 1/18 will now be at DeKalb. Come out Monday and show your support for our Lady Mustangs in their first basketball games of the season.
