3rd Grade Math Teacher
I graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1991. I received a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from East Texas State.
This is my 19th year to teach. I have been a teacher at Red Lick for 15 years. I have taught 7 years of kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, and 10 years of 3rd grade. This year I am teaching 3rd grade math.
I started my teaching career at Bloomburg ISD where I taught kindergarten for two years. Then I began teaching kindergarten at Fifteenth Street. I was fortunate enough to teach with my mother who was and still is my role-model. After those four years of teaching kindergarten, I was grateful to be hired at Red Lick. As I mentioned, my mom is the reason I chose to be a teacher. I saw how much she loved her job and the rewards she gained each year from her successful students. I knew I wanted to have that same feeling and love my career as much as she did and still does.
I have been married to Davy Carr for 16 years. I have two beautiful daughters. Lexi is in the 6th grade, and Lenzi is in the 3rd grade. I was honored to be Lexi's teacher 3 years ago, and I am honored again to have the opportunity to teach Lenzi. We have two dogs. Our hyper beagle is Shugi, and we recently got a black lab, named Max.
I love to shop, shop, shop!!! Of course what girl doesn't? I also enjoy family time and being by the pool. I can't ever get too much sun!!! We also love to watch football. My husband is a huge Longhorn fan, so I became one too. I also like the Razorbacks as long as they don't play Texas!!!
